Other Races
CARA Runner's Choice Circuit
ERC members had a great year-at-the-races! Click on the link above for the full story, with a photo, of the CARA awards banquet. The Club won 3 awards for the members' placing by age group; and several members won top-3 age-group awards for their efforts over at least 7 of the 17 races, lead by Nancy Rollins, 1st in her age-group and 1st in overall age-graded times!
17 races comprise the Circuit this year, up one from 2012. Both individuals and clubs can earn points toward end-of-season awards. To qualify for the awards, you must run a minimum # of races; to have lots of fun, you just show up!
Runners do not have to be CARA members, nor do anything special to have your results recorded. ERC submits a club roster so that a CARA staffer can compile age-group results (that's why we ask for your DOB on the New Member registration!). But, there are benefits to being a CARA Member, and you can read about them HERE, including how to get a 20% discount on your membership!
All you have to do is show up and run! We try to make it easy for you, as carpools are often created to avoid hassles and wasted energy.
Check out the races and see which ones might interest you, then talk it up with your buddies at track, the SMLR or at a party! Click on the blue links to learn more & register.
Just for fun, here's how you find Waldo (i.e., the CARA races), in case you're interested in how far you'll need to drive to take part... let me know if/how it works for you... AND, CARPOOL!
